THIS RUN IS LIMITED TO 10 PRINTS
Original print depicting the death of CúChulainn, from Irish myth.
Hand Printed, signed, and numbered
The first in a series of prints and illustrations I am working on inspired by the Ulster Cycle of Irish Mythology, as well as the wonderful lyrics of the Mountain Goats
This first piece depicts the end of CúChulainn's life, following treachery and betrayal, CúChulainn, knowing he was bound to die tied himself to a standing stone (often identified as the one called Clochafarmore in Co. Louth) to keep himself standing as he died.
After his death, his enemies waited three days out of fear of him to approach, and only approached once a raven landed on him to feed on his body.
This print pairs Lyrics from the Mountain Goats' song Deuteronomy 2:10 "I have no fear of anyone / I am dumb / and wild and free / I am a flightless bird / and there'll be no more after me." In a n effort to recontextualize the lyrics with different imagery.
Printed on archival Arches print paper, the prints measure roughly 11"x14", all prints are hand sized and have have at least one factory edge.
Prints will be shipped in a tube.
